Friday, 23rd March - Strong Performances at Finn Valley and Larne
The weekend of Friday, 23rd March saw race action in Finn Valley and Larne, and Inishowen AC was represented at both venues. Six Inishowen Fit4Life ladies made the trip to Finn Valley on Friday night for the third race in the 5k series. Tracy Harley continued her good form with a 22.16 finish. Denise Doherty was very close behind and was also credited with a 22.16 finish. Other Inishowen AC finishers were:

Helena Crossan and Finbarr Gallagher made the journey to Larne for the annual Half Marathon. They both had good runs in difficult conditions, with Finbarr finishing in 1.25.27 and Helena finishing in 1.26.07. The results bode well for the upcoming Omagh Half Marathon on Saturday, 31st March.
Fergus Cox & Mary Teresa Doherty Progress to UK Sportshall Finals
Fergus Cox & Mary Teresa Doherty, Inishowen AC, were successful at the recent Ulster Sportshall Finals held in Magherafelt. Representing their county, Fergus won the Standing Triple Jump comfortably with a fantastic distance of 6.93m & was part of the 4 x 1 Lap Relay team that took silver, and Mary Teresa was on the winning Obstacle Relay team. They will now compete in the UK Finals in Birmingham on April, 1st...a great achievement for the juveniles themselves as well as the club. The trip will be Fergus' third apparance & Mary Teresa's second at the UK Finals.
Saturday, 17th March - St. Paddy's day 5K, Gransha - Report
St Patrick's Day saw 144 runners toe the line in Gransha for the Sparta AC hosted annual 5k. Seven Inishowen athletes were in attendance and for some the race was the first of the road season. Niall Mc Gee, following a long cross-country season, was the first of the Inishowen runners over the line with a 17.54 finish, setting him up nicely for the long road season ahead. Pat Gallagher was next in a time of 17.57, with Christian Mc Ginley and Patrick Doherty running side by side to finish in 18.02 and 18.03 respectively. Michael Collins finished in 19.07, with Sarah Marie Doherty finishing in 20.28 and Breedge Collins crossing the line in 22.56.
Meanwhile, Inishowen AC would like to congragulate Letterkenny AC athlete, Maria Mc Cambridge on her 2:36:37 finish in the Rome International Marathon which gave her an A qualifying standard for this summer's Olympic Games in London.

RESULTS - Bundoran 10 Mile
Saturday, 10th March saw the staging of the second Bundoran 10 Mile Road Race with 560 athletes taking to the line for the 11am start. Inishowen AC were again out in numbers with eight athletes making the trip to the seaside town. Expectations were high that some fast times would be recorded on a relatively flat course. Carndonagh athlete, Jim Harkin continued his good form from the cross country season and had a fantastic race to finish 33rd overall in a time of 62.08 minutes, starting his road racing season on a high. Karol Mc Laughlin was the next of the Inishowen AC finishers to cross the line in 63.41. Muff athlete, Dwain Robb had a superb day in Bundoran, running to a new PB of 64.02. He was folllowed closely by Helena Crossan in a time of 66.29, taking the over-40 honours. Michael Doherty and Gerad Doherty were next over the line in 66.44, with Linda Mc Daid finishing in 89.07. Well done to all athletes involved for some execellent performances. There's no doubt that first clubman home, Jim Harkin is making a name for himself on the local scene and is an excellent advert for the club schedule. Well done to Jim and all who followed on a good day for the club. Next on the fixture list is the annual Paddy's Day 5k races in Gransha (Derry) and Letterkenny, with both having 11am starts.
