Senior Men Bronze Medal XC 2012

It was back to race action for Inishowen AC on Sunday, 4th November, following the Dublin Marathon a week earlier. First up on a cold morning was the senior women's race and Sheila Doherty was the sole competitor for Inishowen with many of her team mates resting after their efforts in Dublin. She raced to 13th place on a tough course. Eleven male athletes from the club made their way to Letterkenny for the opportunity of a county medal. Pauric Mc Kinney was top placed Inishowen athlete with a superb effort, winning an individulal bronze medal. The achievement was all the more impressive given that Pauraic had scooped over-45 victory in the Dublin Marathon. Further down the field, Inishowen athletes were battling with Lifford AC for team bronze. Joe Mc Kinney was next home for Inishowen with an 11th place finish, followed by Martin Mooney finishing in 21st, Dwain Robb 22nd, Christian Mc Ginley 26th and Malcolm Mc Gee 27th. A bronze team medal was in the bag! Strong finishing from Gerard Doherty 29th, Shane Doherty 32nd, Philip Callaghan 35th and Owenie Mc Kinney 38th capped off a good day at the races for Inishowen AC.
