Saturday, 10th November - Busy Weekend for Cross-country - Report

Ulster Novice Cross-countryIt was a busy weekend for Inishowen AC, with races in Stormont and Killybegs. On Saturday, 10th November, Pauric Mc Kinney was on International duty in Belfast for the British and Irish Masters. Pauric ran to a magnificent 16th place overall and once again was on the podium with a 2nd place finish in the over-45 age group. The Ulster Novice Championships were held in Killybegs on Sunday, 11th and Inishowen AC had juniors and senior men and women representing the Club. In the women's race, Evelyn Mc Ginley was the highest placed Inishowen finisher, running to 5th place to lead the Inishowen ladies home. She was followed by Sheila Doherty (15th), Sarah Marie Doherty (23rd), Tracy Harley (23rd), Denise Doherty (34th), Ruth Doherty (35th) ,Joanne Mc Colgan (40th) and Linda Mc Daid (46th). The Ladies narrowly missed out to Omagh Harriers for a team Bronze medal. In the men's race, Joe Mc Kinney was the leading Inishowen athlete, running to a 9th place finish, followed home By Martin Mooney in 23rd, Christian Mc Ginley (26th), Dwain Robb (28th), Gerard Doherty (33rd), Vincent Hegarty (56th), Shaun Mc Daid (56th), Francis Doherty (66th) and Oweny Mc Kinney (67th), which gave the team a 4th place finish, just missing out on a bronze medal.
