Thursday, 17th May - Donegal Children's Games 2012 - Results & Report

Donegal Children's Games were held in Stranorlar on Thursday, 17th May. The stars of the show were U10 athletes, Seamus Harley & Connie Doherty from Inishowen AC. Seamus won a total of four medals out of four events entered : Gold in the 60m & 500m, Silver in the long-jump & Bronze in the ball-throw; a fantastic achievement at County level. Connie put in a superb effort to win Gold in both the 60m & the 500m. There were other great performances by many of the young athletes on the night; some of them narrowly missing out on medals. The other medal winners were Brenda Collins, winning Silver in the U9 300m, Katelyn Doherty & Drew Mc Kinney, both getting Bronze in the U10 500m, and Adam Whoriskey winning Bronze in the U11 long-jump.

U10 boys 60m - Seamus Harley (Silver)
U10 girls 500m - Connie Doherty (Silver)
Team Silver won by Connie Doherty & Katelyn Rose Doherty
U11 long-jump Team Silver won by Adam Whoriskey & James Loughrey
U12 ball-throw - Una Cox (Bronze)
U13 shot-putt - Eadaoin O Raw (Bronze)

These athletes will go on to represent the Club in the National Finals in Co Cork.
