Dessie's Run & National Half Marathon - Report & Results

It was a busy week for Inishowen AC athletes with races in Derry and Galway. Tuesday, 28th August saw the annual Dessie's Run held in Gransah grounds and a large contingent from Inishowen made the journey for the 10k race.

It was PBs all around on the night and Christian Mc Ginley was first of the Inishowen AC athletes over the line in a new PB of 37.18 followed by training partner Gerad Doherty in 38.03 (PB).

The action moved on to Galway on Sunday where it was the turn of the National Half Marathon Championship. The cream of Irish athletics gathered for one of the top road racing fixtures in the country.

Inishowen AC had four athletes make the long journey to Galway and some personal bests were had on the day. Culdaff athlete Martin Mooney was the top man in form with a time of 82.06 (PB) followed by Jim Harkin in 82.16 (PB), Gareth Mc Laughlin 87 min (PB), Dwain Robb 92 mins.

Next up for Inishowen AC is the Waterside Half Marathon on Sunday, 9th September with a 10.30am start.
