It was a busy week of athletics for the club with races in Lisnagalvin, Limavady, Termon and Muff. The Club Chairman also took in a 64k race over the weekend!

Helena Crossan made a surprise return to competitive action on Thursday, 27th June with a convincing win at the Jude Gallagher 10 Mile road race, winning in a superb time of 1.02.32. After struggling with injuries over the last two years, Crossan showed she is back to her best by having a minute to spare over her nearest rival, Anne Paul from City of Derry.

In the men's race, Culdaff athlete Martin Mooney finished 18th place overall with a new PB for the distance – 1 hour 46 seconds. Theresa Doherty continued her good road form with a 1.09.29 to win the F35 category.

The race action continued in Lisnagalvin and Termon with both venues staging 5k races. Good performances were generally achieved by Inishowen AC athletes. Michael Collins and Vinny Hegarty ran 19.16 and 19.38 respectively on the night in Lisnagalvin. In Termon, Benny Mc Daid stormed to a new PB with a 16.50 finishing time, with David Porter crossing the line in 18.18.

Niall Mc Gee was Inishowen AC's sole representative at the 64km Gael Force North adventure race which took place between Glenveagh National Park and Bunbeg on Saturday, 29th June. Niall finished the Run-Cycle-Kayak-Hill Climb in 4 hours 15 minutes 25 seconds to place 14th overall.

Finishing of a busy weekend for Inishowen AC athletes was the Ladies' Fit4Llife 5k in Muff on Sunday, 30th June. Over sixty ladies took to the start line for the 10am start. Sharon Mc Daid was the winner with a 21.03 finish, followed by Patricia Mc Laughlin in 22.28.
